Research: How to make a short film.

Image
Welcome! I watched a video on how to make a short film, and it gave me some great tips. The main thing is to start with a clear idea that you can tell in a short amount of time without feeling rushed. You also need to plan, write a short script, storyboard, and focus on visuals that drive the story. One cool thing I learned was to use limitations to my advantage. Short films don’t need big budgets or complicated setups. You can be creative and resourceful, and that can go a long way. I’ll keep this in mind as I plan my shots and edit my film. Casting is also important!  You need to find actors who fit the roles and can bring the characters to life. Overall, this video gave me a solid roadmap to follow, from concept to final product. I’ll focus on telling a simple but impactful story, making every shot count, and letting the visuals do the heavy lifting. That's all for today,  Logging off!

Comparing Le Jetee, the short, and 12 Monkeys, the full-length movie.

Image
Welcome! Today we will be comparing another short and full-length movie. Part 1: Video Takeaways The video provided a fascinating look into the storytelling techniques of  La Jetée  and  12 Monkeys , demonstrating how two films can explore similar themes through very different methods.  La Jetée , a groundbreaking French short film, tells a hauntingly powerful narrative using only still images, yet manages to evoke deep emotions and a sense of tension. It serves as a remarkable example of how simplicity, when paired with a strong narrative concept, can result in a profoundly moving experience. In contrast,  12 Monkeys , a full-length feature film, expands upon  La Jetée 's concept by incorporating live-action scenes, dialogue, and more complex character interactions. Both films dive deeply into themes of time travel, memory, and the struggle for survival in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic world. Part 2: Article Takeaways The article further deepened my ...

Comparing 9, the short, and 9, the full-length movie.

Image
Welcome! Today we will be comparing both nine the short and full-length movie.  Short film:  What are your impressions? The short film starts in a dystopian world and immediately got my eye through the puppet characters. There is no dialogue but you’re able to understand everything that is going on through the characters body language that the director greatly portrayed. However, the plot itself could’ve revealed more like why the puppets were getting chased by the monster, that was never made clear. Plot - 9 and his companion, 5 , battle a fearsome mechanical beast in a desperate struggle for survival. Although the story is minimalistic it becomes powerful through it’s storytelling. Character development - Since it is a short film there isn’t much character development. 5 is portrayed as brave and deeply cares for the safety of 9. In the beginning 9 is told to hide and run while 5 picks up the battle, however, when 5 dies, he picks up the fight himself. Special effect...

Genre Decision.

Image
Welcome! Today we will talk about my genre decision! The genre of my opening sequence will be  romance with a twist of drama . I chose this because, at its core, the story is about love and the emotional bond between the boy and his lover, but the drama comes in with the surprising twist about him having to leave for an international program. I usually always go for the thriller genre and for this project I wanted step out my comfort zone. So, for this final project I wanted to share a story of love and memories and highlight to the audience that we should always appreciate our loved ones. The opening sequence will focus on the loving relationship with the characters. That's all. Logging off!

My Pitch.

Image
Welcome! Today we will talk about the pitches I came up with for my final project.  1st pitch : A girl and boy make a deal to help each other on their projects by the end of the month and end up falling in love. 2nd pitch : The life of a girl of has bad eyesight breaks her glasses and has to navigate throughout her day bumping into a lot of sticky situations.  Why or why not 1st pitch: The reason why I would do the first pitch is because it offers emotional twist that challenges the audience's perception of love, making it a powerful and memorable story. Considering the limited time and equipment, I believe that I will successfully be able to convey a beginning, middle, and end in the time given. Additionally, the balance between flashbacks and the reveal requires a careful build-up, which I believe I can execute through precise pacing and emotional. However, a reason I would not do this pitch is do to locations and actors, the scene and actors must be able to portray th...

On this road alone!

Image
Hello Viewers! Hope everyone is doing well. Today, I'll discuss the final task. For this project, I decided to work by myself. Although I enjoy working with others, my current schedule for this year including, debate, choir, and other after school activities would make it hard for me to balance times to meet and record. I'd much rather not inconvenience my members and work by myself.  However, I'll take this project as a learning experience to see how much I can accomplish on my own!  . I've worked on projects alone before and proved to successful but this time I will deepen my skills.  Working independently will allow me to develop and test my skills on another level. I believe that just as there are benefits when working in a group, there are also advantages when working alone. The main advantage of working by myself is that I can pursue my own vision without being governed by the opinions of others. This reduces the brainstorming process as I can keep my own ide...

Introduction: Let's run it again!

Image
Welcome! all about me  Hello viewer, my name is Kemora.   Here is a quick rundown. I live in hot weather in Florida. I am a Junior student currently enrolled in Fort Lauderdale High School. I love traveling, but I haven't been to that many places, and I love animals and reading.   Let's Begin! Initially, I had a strong passion for law, but this changed over the summer as I regained my pursuit of the arts. If I shared how I rediscovered my passion, I doubt anyone would believe me. Two summers ago I watched " High School Musical: The Musical: The Series ." Watching the show reignited my passion. The stories of how the characters realized their calling for acting and music made me feel like I was in the film, as if the story was my own. I aspire to make people feel the same way. Since I was little, I had always dreamt of being an actress and even went to auditions. Unfortunately, my dream was cut short. Helping people has always been my specialty, and for a while, I c...
