Bring In The Music!

Image
Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. We are almost towards the end of this project! Today, I focused on adding sound effects and the background music I wanted to be in the film. Sound effects played a crucial role in my film by adding depth and realism. They enhance the suspense and improve my audience's overall engagement and immersion in the story. From footsteps and door slams to sound effects of nature, these effects greatly contributed to the emotional impact of my film and heightened its overall value. It definitely was not the easiest editing process, but it will forever be one of my favorites. Getting the right timing to add in audio and making sure the actors could be heard was also vital. Balancing audio levels in the film was also crucial to ensure that all the sounds, including dialogue, sound effects, and background music, could be heard by the viewer. If the audio levels were not properly balanced, certain sounds may have been too loud or too soft, making it difficult

Time For The Hard Work.

Image
Hello everyone! I finally finished recording all the scenes! After scene two was completely filmed, I decided to go straight into editing. I ended up changing the storyboard and script. The original storyboard had Makayla checking her phone in scene one, which was a straightforward and traditional approach. However, the revised version uses a screen recording to add a modern twist and showcase the technology's capabilities. I believe this way it continues the theme of technology throughout the video. By using a screen recording, it showcases the modern ways in which we can share and view images, making it more relatable to our audience. Additionally, it adds a touch of creativity and uniqueness to the final product, setting it apart from other videos. I also ended up removing the part where Makayla gets a message with photos in scene three. It took up to much time and removing it didn't hinder the story. Apart from this, I cropped and cut the scenes to fit together. Cropping an

The Plan For Filming Scene Three.

Image
Hello everyone! Today, I want to discuss the plan for filming scene three. As you know, I had to move back the filming. due to family reasons and according to everyone's availability schedule. There are two plans. The first is that we film on Friday after school next week. Since Nathan and I are cousins and live in the same neighborhood, it would be easy for him to come to my house and walk to the park together.  Savannah and Aaliyah would meet us there, and we would start filming. This plan is a backup in case the other plan doesn't work. The other plan is that we film this Sunday, tomorrow, and meet at the park where we are going to film scene three. I chose Sunday as the filming day because it is a day that allows for more flexibility and convenience for everyone. With Sunday being a non-working day, it ensures that all team members have ample time to prepare and participate in the filming process without any conflicts with their work schedule. Additionally, Sunday provide

Table Read.

Image
Hello everyone! Today the cast, or other participants, and I did a table read for scene three that was planned to be filmed on Sunday. Over the phone, we conducted the table read on FaceTime, and we went over everyone's lines one by one. Conducting a table read before filming was crucial as it allowed everyone involved to become familiar with the scene, their lines, and the dynamics of their performances. It helped to identify and address any inconsistencies or issues in the dialogue and ensured that everyone was on the same page. Additionally, the table read allowed me to give and get feedback and improvisation, allowing for adjustments and enhancements to be made before the actual filming process begins. The table read ensured that the participants could easily deliver their dialogue and immerse themselves in the scene. Everyone became familiar with their lines and focused on their delivery and connecting with fellow actors, resulting in a more cohesive and engaging performance

Time For Music!

Image
Hello everyone! Hope all is well.  Today, we are going to talk about music. Finding background music for a film is like finding a puzzle piece - it's a process of trial and error, having to listen to multiple options until finding the perfect match. Both require careful selection to ensure they bring the overall project together, enhancing the theme, mood, and pacing. Just as a missing puzzle piece completes a puzzle, the right background music can complete a film, adding depth and atmosphere to scenes. However, if the wrong background music is chosen, it can completely undermine the intended theme and mood of the film. It may lack the intensity or suspense needed for a thriller scene, or it may be too overwhelming and distract from the narrative. This can greatly impact the audience's experience and ruin the overall pacing and impact of the film. Therefore, I was careful to select background music that complements the overall project. As part of my research, I used YouTube to

Blast Off: More Progress!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having an excellent day. I've decided to reschedule the filming for scene two to this Sunday. I informed everyone that I wanted to be on the scene ahead of time so that they could plan for transportation. On to the work of today: With my cousin Nathan's help, today was a productive day for filming as I  finished shooting scenes three and four. He played a crucial role in speeding up the filming process; without him, it would have been difficult to capture certain shots. Both of us filmed, but for certain parts, he would be the one filming me as I am the character in the film. Nathan and I decided to film scene three first, outside of my apartment complex. He used his tripod to film steady shots and used his hands to film tracking shots. Using a tripod allowed for stable and smooth shots, which was essential for capturing clear and detailed footage. The tracking shots captured using hands provided a dynamic and immersive perspective, adding mov

Rough Start.

Image
Hello everyone! Last week was pretty rough, but I'm ready to work. It was very difficult for me to film due to family issues, but I will make up for it this week!  As planned I finished recording the voiceovers according to the schedule. However, I wasn't able to finish recording the scenes for my opening sequence. I've completed my first scene successfully and still have three more scenes left to film. Despite the challenges, progress has been made, as the first scene has been successfully filmed even though the other three scenes were not. I was assisted in recording by my cousin, who helped me by using his tripod. To make sure that the tripod would not be seen in the film, he carefully positioned the camera in order to get the necessary angles to highlight key parts of the clip. This was essential in ensuring that the important parts of the scene were captured and that the visuals were visually appealing to the viewer. As part of my effort to give the audience a "te

New Script!

Image
Welcome ! Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you the new script I've made. I believe that this new script will better enhance my opening sequence. Nicholas Rose canceled his role in the film because of personal issues. I tried to find a replacement however nobody else was available. Therefore, I had to remove the character "JOSH" as a whole from the film. This included giving his lines and screen time to a different character. While this did push things back, I didn't let this knock me off track! SCRIPT : #FindME Makayla’s room.    MAKAYLA (VOICEOVER) Makayla is scrolling through social media on her computer  “ Envy is something we all experience. But when you stray too far, you end up wanting too much and once you see the opportunity,” She gets a message that reads: “Elaine has been missing for 3 weeks.” and “#FindME” “ you take it. “ She clicks the hashtag and reads the missing poster. She then messages Elaine’s mom: “I found your daughter.” “Even if tha
