Production Stage: Editing!
Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is having a good day. This week has been a little overwhelming due to the constant amount of assignments I had. However, I started some of the editing for the Music Video. Although the group had not yet finished shooting, I began editing anyway. The first step in this process was reviewing the footage. I put the collected footage into Capcut, my editing software, and meticulously organized, reviewed, and selected the best takes. The timeline began to take shape as I synchronized the music track with the video clips. I organized the video clips with each scene according to the storyboard.
With the use of various effects, color grading, and transitions, I was able to create a cohesive narrative that flowed in harmony with the emotional arc of the music. To create the smooth and seamless narrative I wanted, it required careful attention to the effects, color grading, and transitions. The timing of the transitions between video clips and music track played a vital role in evoking the desired emotion. Additionally, the color grading had to be balanced carefully to maintain consistency in the tone of the film throughout.
The editing process was a collaborative effort with the group, as their feedback was crucial in fine-tuning the video. Each suggestion and adjustment brought the group closer to the final product that everyone was proud of. The collaboration process was invaluable because it ensured everyone's input was heard in creating the video. I made several revisions to get the video just right. Editing the music video was a transformative experience for me. It not only tested my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the power of visuals in storytelling. It highlighted the importance of collaboration and attention to detail.
Although all of this editing was just a piece of the Music Video and there was still stuff left to be done, it was satisfying to be done with a small part of this project!
