Blast Off: More Progress!

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is having an excellent day.

I've decided to reschedule the filming for scene two to this Sunday. I informed everyone that I wanted to be on the scene ahead of time so that they could plan for transportation.

On to the work of today:

With my cousin Nathan's help, today was a productive day for filming as I  finished shooting scenes three and four. He played a crucial role in speeding up the filming process; without him, it would have been difficult to capture certain shots. Both of us filmed, but for certain parts, he would be the one filming me as I am the character in the film. Nathan and I decided to film scene three first, outside of my apartment complex. He used his tripod to film steady shots and used his hands to film tracking shots. Using a tripod allowed for stable and smooth shots, which was essential for capturing clear and detailed footage. The tracking shots captured using hands provided a dynamic and immersive perspective, adding movement and versatility to the shots. These different shooting techniques enhanced the overall quality and composition of scene three, making it more dynamic and engaging for the viewer. The use of steady shots for clear and detailed footage combined with the immersive perspective from tracking shots creates a more engaging storytelling experience for the audience. By using this combination of tripod and handheld shooting techniques, I hope to add depth and engagement to the viewer's experience by making the footage more active and exciting. I used props in this scene such as my phone, keys, and a missing poster. With all of these items, I included close-ups to allow the audience to closely examine the props and details in the scene, adding depth and symbolism to the story. By focusing on specific objects, like the missing poster, close-ups conveyed important narrative information and gave the audience insight into my characters' goals and objectives.

After successfully filming this scene Nathan and I moved on to the next scene, scene four. To enhance the suspense and build tension in the atmosphere, I recommended using an over-the-shoulder shot for this scene. Additionally, this allowed the audience to be able to view the text displayed on the phone more easily. To convey the way that the character, Makayla, felt in the moment, I focused more on my facial expressions for this scene, and I used them to express how afraid she was. This allowed the audience to empathize with the character and experience the full range of emotions portrayed in the film. In this case, by focusing on Makayla's facial expressions, I was able to effectively communicate her fear and anxiety, enhancing the suspense and building tension in the scene.

Overall, I had a successful filming day. Thank you for checking in!
