Bring In The Music!

Hope everyone is doing well. We are almost towards the end of this project! Today, I focused on adding sound effects and the background music I wanted to be in the film. Sound effects played a crucial role in my film by adding depth and realism. They enhance the suspense and improve my audience's overall engagement and immersion in the story. From footsteps and door slams to sound effects of nature, these effects greatly contributed to the emotional impact of my film and heightened its overall value.

It definitely was not the easiest editing process, but it will forever be one of my favorites. Getting the right timing to add in audio and making sure the actors could be heard was also vital. Balancing audio levels in the film was also crucial to ensure that all the sounds, including dialogue, sound effects, and background music, could be heard by the viewer. If the audio levels were not properly balanced, certain sounds may have been too loud or too soft, making it difficult for the audience to hear and understand important dialogue or disrupting the overall flow of the film. I wanted to ensure that the background music enhanced the scenes and did not overpower the dialogue or other important sound effects. One technique I used was music that was tailored to different scenes, using energetic and exciting music in suspenseful or intense scenes, and using soft and calming music in emotional or sensitive scenes. 

In scene one, I used a suspenseful piece of music that I downloaded from YouTube to add to the suspense of the scene and to attract my audience's attention. In the last scene, background music is played at a low volume, creating a sense of mystery and tension. As the characters stop in the middle of the hallway the background music increases in volume and intensity, heightening the anticipation and intrigue. This helped to enhance the atmosphere and add emotional depth to the scene, making it more engaging and impactful for the audience.

Overall, this part of editing was enjoyable for me as I was able to witness how adding sounds and audio helped to create and better my film. It added a whole new level of depth and realism, captivating my audience and immersing them in the storytelling experience. The careful placement and balancing of sound effects, dialogue, and background music created a seamless and compelling narrative that I was thankful to witness the profound impact it had on the overall impact of my work.
