Table Read.
Hello everyone!
Today the cast, or other participants, and I did a table read for scene three that was planned to be filmed on Sunday. Over the phone, we conducted the table read on FaceTime, and we went over everyone's lines one by one. Conducting a table read before filming was crucial as it allowed everyone involved to become familiar with the scene, their lines, and the dynamics of their performances. It helped to identify and address any inconsistencies or issues in the dialogue and ensured that everyone was on the same page. Additionally, the table read allowed me to give and get feedback and improvisation, allowing for adjustments and enhancements to be made before the actual filming process begins. The table read ensured that the participants could easily deliver their dialogue and immerse themselves in the scene. Everyone became familiar with their lines and focused on their delivery and connecting with fellow actors, resulting in a more cohesive and engaging performance. This familiarity allowed for smoother communication and feedback between participants.
Nathan was the first to get all of his lines and blocking done. I expected this from him as he told me recently that he dreamed of becoming an actor. However, he would sometimes miss his timing to enter or speak which led to the group repeating multiple times. Both Aaliyah and Savannah were very effective at revealing their characters' personalities and demonstrating their facial expressions throughout the whole table read. In this scene, I think I was able to portray my character's shock and fear effectively. This table read was definitely needed and helped avoid any troubles in acting that might've occurred on Sunday if we had never done it. Now, the group is able to portray their characters more effectively and connect on a deeper level. This ultimately resulted in a more cohesive and engaging performance overall. While we still had little bumps, with a little more practice all will be well.
That's all for today, Thank you.
