Planning: Short Film Storyboard.

Hello everyone!

Here is the storyboard for my Short film! 


1. Jenny's phone rings as she sleeps in.
2. Messages are shown that highlight Jenny is going to be late for work.
3. Jenny checks the time and realizes she is late for work.
4. She rushes to her closet to get dressed.
5. She then goes to the bathroom where she rushes to do multiple things.
6. Jenny hurries out the door with toast hanging in her mouth.

1. Hanya is giving Jenny a lecture on being late while also asking her about her final art project.
2. As Jenny is getting a book she sees a boy on the other side of the bookshelf.
3. Jenny runs over to the other side of the bookshelf. When she sees James she asks to draw him.
4. Both Jenny and James shake on a deal o hep each other achieve their goals.
5. Jenny is trying to draw James but he keeps joking around.
6. Montage of Jenny drawing him before dissolving into another scene.
1. As Jenny is sleeping James stares at her before leaving.
2. She sees a red note on the top of her other books.
3. The note reads "my turn" and Jenny rushes to pack her things.
4. Jenny and James go to a tree trail where James starts recording.
5. The camera jumps from Jame's camera to the wide camera.
6. Jenny and James are on a bridge laughing together. They also bid goodbye.

1. Jenny submits her final project, a knock is heard at the door.
2. A red note is slipped under the door from James.
3. Now a montage is shown of the two hanging out.
4. The montage sends and the two are now back at the tree trail.
5. The start looking deep in each other's eyes - growing closer.
6. Jenny and James finally kiss.

1. Jenny drops her keys on the table and a picture of her and James is seen.
2. Jenny's laptop goes off and she see's her final grade.
3. The focus then shifts on James. His acceptance letter has arrived.
4. James is with his best friends as he opens the letter, he gets into the film program.
5. Lani takes the letter and gets excited but James doesn't because he realizes he has to leave.
6. There is a close up of the missed calls from Jenny on his phone.

1. Jenny is now the focus. She is rereading the messages she sent to James and gets a new text.
2. The message tells her James is leaving.
3. A knock is heard at the door and Jenny stands in front of James.
4. They get into a heated argument as Jenny confronts him.
5. Jenny storms off and James quickly follows.
6. Jenny and James share a distance between them as they confess.


1. James still decides to leave but promises to stay in contact. They hug for the last time.
2. Jenny is sitting on the couch, a stack of red letters seen.
3. An envelope is slipped under the door.
4. Jenny opens the envelope to find a red note telling her to open the door.
5.Jenny opens the door to see James standing there with a smile.

Production: Filter time!!

 Welcome! Choosing an editing style for the project was one of the most important steps in bringing the story to life. I wanted to create a specific mood that would enhance the emotions of each scene, so I spent a lot of time experimenting with different filters and effects. Initially, I tried using bright, high-contrast filters to make everything pop, but it didn’t fit the tone I was aiming for. It made the film feel too loud and overwhelming. After discussing it with the group, I decided to take a more subtle approach. I experimented with softer filters that muted the colors slightly. This gave the scenes a more romantic, dream-like quality, which was perfect for the narrative. The group and I agreed that this style complemented the story's reflective and emotional elements.  Another aspect I focused on was color grading.  Hello everyone! Hope all is well.  Today, we are going to talk about music. Finding background music for a film is like finding a puzzle piece - it's a process of trial and error, having to listen to multiple options until finding the perfect match. Both require careful selection to ensure they bring the overall project together, enhancing the theme, mood, and pacing. Just as a missing puzzle piece completes a puzzle, the right background music can complete a film, adding depth and atmosphere to scenes. However, if the wrong background music is chosen, it can completely undermine the intended theme and mood of the film. It may lack the intensity or suspense needed for a thriller scene, or it may be too overwhelming and distract from the narrative. This can greatly impact the audience's experience and ruin the overall pacing and impact of the film. Therefore, I was careful to select background music that complements the overall project.
